Snow extravaganza

So far it's been a great snow day- we started with a morning sled ride, then Bea and Mommy did arts and crafts, followed by a trek to the Essential Bakery for lunch. Daddy is heading home soon which hopefully means Bea gets to do more sledding!

Halloween pics - delayed

I just realized I never posted Halloween pictures! Bea sported two costumes this year and went to a neighborhood Halloween fair as a bumble bee and to a Halloween party as a froggie. Bea helped Mimi carve a pumpkin cat.
For fun- here is Bea last year in the same costume. She's just kind of stretched out, right?

Go Daddy, Go!

Daddy's boat blew away their competition this Sunday at the Head of the Lake. Thankfully (and surprisingly) it was a beautiful morning for rowing and spectating. Bea, Nana, and I had a great time cheering on Daddy - we're so proud of him!

Bea's weekend extraganza at Nana's

Post courtesy of Nana:

Why did Bea wear Nana's apron to the park?

Nana has now recovered from the 4 days and 3 nights with the indomitable Miss Bea while M & D went to Boston on their missions of meeting with friends and rowing at the Head of the Charles. If you ever have the distinction of having Bea as a house guest, expect her to take charge in a firm but gracious manner on every level from food to music to dress to household management. She will reward you with humor, curiosity, stimulating conversation and general enthusiasm for all activities. She will leave your house a wreck, the laundry not done, the newspaper unread, phone calls not returned and the need to catch up on your sleep. But Nana doesn't regret one moment. As for the apron wearing while walking to and from the park, you'll have to ask Beatrice.

Pumpkin Patch

We went back to Fall City Farm yesterday to take advantage of the sun. Pumpkins, mini doughnuts, and farm animals = happy Bea!

What to be for Halloween??

Chicken suit is hilarious but too small. The tutu is a HUGE hit and she goes twirl-crazy, but also in the running are a frog suit and last year's bee outfit (which still fits)...maybe we'll have to turn Halloween into a week-long affair.

Calisthenics

We really don't force her to exercise, I swear! She likes to do whatever Daddy does.

Evergreen State Fair

Our visit to the Evergreen State Fair this weekend was only moderately successful, keeping in theme with life-after-paci. Did we mention we said goodbye to the pacifier a week ago? It's gone surprisingly well at nap and bedtime, but Bea has lost her brave edge and is suctioned to me whenever she feels a wee bit unsure.
I can't blame all of tears shed at the fair on the lack of paci as she was pecked by a chicken in the petting zoo (30 seconds after the picture was taken) which sent her into a downward spiral that resulted in tears over all subsequent animal viewings, even bunnies(!). She liked the tractors, the carousel, and of course, the scones, so all was not lost.
