Oh no...2 1/2

Between 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 Beatrice became a terrible sleeper. She had always slept well as a baby but once 2 1/2 hit, she was hard to put to bed and started launching out of her crib multiple times every night (safely, but persistently). After finding her sleeping in her chair or on the floor several times, we converted her crib to a toddler bed. I was hoping Lily would somehow by-pass this phase and stay the sound sleeper she has always been. But, the warning signs are there and hard to ignore. Step 1 to combat the impending exhausting nights was to get rid of Lily's pacifier which she would cry out for up to 5 times a night, but now she has moved on to her blanket as the source of the nighttime fussies. So Step 2 was to quickly order her a toddler size comforter that she can't easily kick off. Step 3 might be moving poor Beatrice to sleep in the office indefinitely while Lily screams through the night. As Ian said the other day...it's like having a newborn again. Sigh.
