Hi, all,
Team Beatrice apologizes for not posting an update on Friday. As Ms. Beatrice begins her long journey, her domestiques (daddy and mommy) will similarly settle in for the duration, and may not be able post on a daily basis. So have no fear: No news is not bad news: Ms. Beatrice is doing fine.
But we do have some minor news for Beatrice's hardcore fans: Ms. Bea began eating (via feeding tube) last night. So far, so good. There is a chance that her digestive system will rebel against the new protocol, but we won't know for another day or two. In the meantime, let's all hope for positive bowel sounds. (Rarely have so many had such good reason to hope for dirty diapers.)
Thanks so much to everyone for checking in. We are truly spoiled to have received so much care and support.
All the best,
Team Beatrice (Ian)

We've been religiously following Bea's blog, albeit silently (before now!) Bea is so special, a real fighter, she's in our hearts and minds everyday -- as are you, too!
Now on to the business of poopy diapers -- Go Bea, you can do it!
Hugs,
Janice and Hendrik
I check your blog daily to read the latest on precious Bea. Each time it becomes more evident what amazing parents little Bea has! You have lots of love and support coming your way from all directions. Take care. :)Meg Cooney
she's gonna be a porker!
Ian,
We met once at Daryl & Evonne Benedicts house when Ryan and Laura were in town. D’Anna, Caitlin & I started a similar journey Feb 9th 2007. I don’t know if we shared our story with you, but Caitlin was born at 2lbs. 11oz. at 31 wks in a very rapid and unexpected arrival, both D’Anna & Caitlin faced serious life threatening issues. Consequently, I too have put my share of miles on those hospital room recliners. I lived for weeks on each moment concerned with the loves of my life. Nothing else mattered during that time as I’m sure you are experiencing right now. This might seem presumptuous coming from someone you only met once, but I remember it would have been good to confer with someone (non-clinically) who had been through this personally. So… If you ever want to talk, have coffee, whatever, I’d be honored.
