Hi, All,
Big doings in Beatrice-land! This morning, the Little One took about 90% of her breakfast from a bottle, and then (and then!), a little later, she was switched from the vapotherm to a nasal canula (I have not idea how to spell that word).
Basically, the nasal canula (again, no idea) really is the type of breathing apparatus older folks wear if they need a little extra oxygen. It looks a lot like the vapotherm, but is even less invasive and more portable.
Oh, oh, oh! And she's in a crib now! (As you can see from the pictures.)
Mommy and Daddy are just overwhelmed right now, so we're not going to say much more. Bea's nurse was even talking about sending the Little One down to the Special Care Unit in a week or two. We (M&D) are not sure if we're ready for that, but Bea is moving full speed ahead.
Time to get our house in order, stat.
All the best,
Team Beatrice (Ian)
P.S: Bea's O2 levels were a little low when Daddy was holding her this evening, although not alarmingly so. Thought that she just had a really hard day, but it turns out that her O2 had been accidentally disconnected! She was breathing entirely on her own and doing a great job!

You grow girl!!
Hugs and kisses from Darrell and Evonne
Awesome!! We are so thrilled that little Bea is progressing so well.
Kinda scary about the O2, but I guess all is well.
(M&D - by the way, the white crib is much more chic than the silver cribs that the other NICU residents have.)
Her progress is so exciting! Watching any baby grow and thrive is cause for celebration, but watching little Beatrice make such great gains is downright INSPIRING!
